Mother Jones is an interesting (and for some maybe controversial) magazine that focuses on news, commentary, and investigative reporting on topics including politics, the environment, human rights, health and culture.
Its political inclination is variously described as either liberal or progressive.
The magazine has been the subject of criticism regarding the editorial position of the staff, exploitation of interns, misinterpreting data about homeless people and promotion of values that are perceived to be inconsistent with those of the magazine's namesake, Mother Jones. Read more...
The original Mother Jones was Mary G. Harris Jones (1837 (baptized) – November 30, 1930), who from 1897 onward, was an Irish-born American schoolteacher and dressmaker who became a prominent union organizer, community organizer, and activist.
